Start the Summer off with dinosaur movies at the library! Stop by and watch as long as you like. G-rated Dino movies (similar to Land Before Time and The Flintstones) will be showing from 9:30am-12:30pm. PG-rated Dino movies (similar to Ice Age and The Good Dinosaur) will be showing from 1:00-4:00pm.

Dino Fun Run at Elm Street Green

A fun outdoor run for all ages to kick off summer reading! The course is approximately .25 mile around the path at Elm Street Green. Every finisher gets a popsicle, and you can head to the library afterwards to pick up your one-hour prize! Children under age 8 should have a parent with them. No dogs at the event. The Case of the Missing Habitat. Can your family crack the case? Important habitat clues have gone missing, and the trail holds the key to finding them. Your family will explore the park in search of clues that help put wildlife habitats back together. Along the way, you’ll work together to solve hands-on puzzles, uncover hidden messages, and try a few simple science experiments.


This family-friendly program is best suited for ages 6 and up. Younger siblings are welcome to join the fun with help from family members.


Please register one adult per team or family. You will be able to list family members participating at check out. Program fee includes materials and small take-home prizes

Step into nature and turn what you find outside into art. Join a naturalist for a hands-on creative experience using materials from the natural world. Participants will explore different ways to make art, such as experimenting with natural dyes, crafting simple jewelry, and trying other nature inspired projects. This one hour program is relaxed and full of creativity, offering a unique way to connect with the outdoors.


All materials are provided. No experience needed, just come ready to explore and make something unique. All participants must register.

Summer is a great time to explore aquatic ecosystems! Spend the morning getting your feet wet and muddy in the wetlands and creek of Zion Nature Sanctuary! We will look for fish, crayfish, amphibians, aquatic insects, and more. Wear boots or shoes that can get muddy. No bare feet or slip on shoes like flip flops or slides. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 6+.

Come cheer on Indiana's best at the Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana's Teen Competition! Preliminary competitions run June 17–19 at the Zionsville PAC. On Saturday, June 20 enjoy a free parade and autograph signing on historic Main Street at noon, followed by the final night of competition that evening.

Join artist Anita Gordon for an artist-led watercolor workshop at the June 23rd Lebanon City Market! Anita will guide you through a step-by-step painting class, turning a blank canvas into a vibrant coastal scene. All materials will be provided—just bring a willingness to try and wear clothes that can get a little messy.

Safe Sitter® Certification Course

A great opportunity for 6th–8th graders (ages 12–14) to get certified as babysitters! The Safe Sitter® course covers safety skills, child care skills, and life & business skills — everything needed to babysit with confidence. Students will learn child development, behavior management, emergency preparedness, and how to land and manage babysitting jobs. Bring a sack lunch. Boone County Pedal Parade & Carnival

Decorate your bike for the 4th of July and take a lap or two, led by Lebanon’s Police and Sheriff Heroes. Plus, contests for the best-decorated bike, fun door prizes, and giveaways! This event is FREE for all participants. Any child up to age 15 may take part in the parade. All participants are encouraged to decorate their bike in patriotic colors and may participate in a free raffle for games and prizes.
